Cytokeratins are regarded as the most fundamental markers of epithelial differentiation.

Based on 2D gel-electrophoresis, keratins are divided into Acid keratins/Type A or Basic keratins /Type B.

Remember- A for Acid keratins and B for Basic keratins

Further, each group is divided into High molecular weight keratins (HMWK) and Low molecular weight keratins (LMWK).
